**Welcome to Mr. Estrada's Classroom!**

I am teaching Math 3, Math 3 Honors, and Math 2 this Fall semester of the 2019-2020 school year.

**MATH 3 and Math 3 Honors**

Math 3 is the third math course required by the state of North Carolina for graduation. There will be many topics covered in this math course. Because of this, we move at a much quicker pace than the previous math courses taken in high school. This course is to prepare you for your next math course you will be taking, whether it should be AFM, Discreet, or Pre-Cal.

Topics that will be covered are absolute value functions and piecewise functions, inverse functions, exponential and logarithmic functions (graphing and solving), polynomials (graphing, factoring, and operations), quadrilaterals, volume and surface area, rational functions (graphing, operations, and solving), circles and triangles, graphing trigonometric functions, and statistics.

**MATH 2
**Math 2 is the second math course required by the state of North Carolina for graduation.

Throughout the year we will be working together to learn material from the mathematical disciplines of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. In the algebra units we will discuss quadratics, radical functions, and inverse variations. In the geometry units we will discuss transformations, parallel lines with a transversal, and triangle congruence and similarity. The trigonometry unit we will discuss the sine, cosine and tangent function in relation to right triangles and angles of elevation and depression. In the statistics unit we will learn about probability.
