             Sharyl Beck - Visual Arts

Hello and welcome to the 2020-2021 school year.  It is definitely a different kind of way to start our year and I am here to help you in whatever way I can.  It makes me happy that you are curious about your child's Visual Art's experience.  My belief is that all students can benefit from the exposure to and interaction with the ARTS , whether it be Visual or Performing. The ARTS can help your child learn to problem solve, think critically, and discover ways to express themselves.  When the ARTS are combined with other curriculum, your child can find further success, build confidence, and ultimately reach the AMAZING POTENTIAL locked within them.
I started with Lexington City Schools in 2016 after working in Davie County Schools from  2001 to 2015.  Attending school must be a career in itself for me as I graduated from UNC-Greensboro in 1991 with a Bachelors of Fine Art, received my teaching license from High Point University in 2005, and finished with a Master's Degree in School Leadership and Administration from Appalachian State University in 2011.  My career as an art educator has always been at the elementary level.  Currently I work for Pickett Elementary, Charles England Elementary, South Lexington , and South Lexington Developmental Center.
