Students are expected to come to class prepared with pencils, paper, notebooks, and Jacket binders.  In order to maximize learning, they must be active learners who do not take away from the learning experience for classmates.
In Fifth grade Math, the majority of concepts are based on students knowing multiplication facts through the 12's.  PLEASE help your child learn these facts through games, flashcards, and verbally.
At this point, other than studying Multiplication facts, I have not given Math homework.  Unless I am 100% sure that a student understands a concept, I do not give Math homework.  If a student thinks they understand a concept and then does 20 problems incorrectly, it is difficult to unlearn.

This week students will be doing research for an ecosystem prok=ject and can also work on it at home.
