Professional Development/Renewal Credit Resources

Educators in Lexington City Schools have access to three key (and free!) sources of professional development -- "live" face-to-face training with the Piedmont Triad Education Consortium (PTEC), and online professional development offerings via the NCEES/TNL Online Evaluation Tool and the Friday Institute at NC State.

PIEDMONT TRIAD EDUCATION CONSORTIUM:
Lexington City Schools is a member of the Piedmont Triad Education Consortium (PTEC).  PTEC provides high-quality in-person training on a variety of topics of value to professional educators in our region.  To access a calendar of upcoming training sessions, click here to go to their homepage, then click on "PTEC Professional Development Offerings".

Once you complete a training course with PTEC, you will be provided a certificate of completion.  You will need to submit this certificate, either via school mail or as an email attachment, to Human Resources (Dave Fairall or Kathy Barker) to receive renewal credit for that activity.

NCEES/TNL EVALUATION TOOL:
Log into your online performance evaluation in NCEES/TNL then click on "Professional Development" in the top-line menu.  From there, you can use the navigational menus on that page to find professional development offerings that are appropriate to your PD needs.  You can also use the Search function to search for specific topics.  Offerings in this platform are all online and are either self-paced or instructor-led.

Once you complete a professional development activity in NCEES, email Human Resources (Dave Fairall or Carolyn Johnson) to let them know you have completed a course.

THE FRIDAY INSTITUTE AT NC STATE:

The Friday Institute offers free online training modules for NC educators. Visit https://place.fi.ncsu.edu/ to view offerings and sign up for courses that are of interest to you.
