Welcome to Mrs. Hairston’s Math Class Webpage

I am excited about our upcoming 2019-2020 school year. I have been teaching for eleven years, which includes my fourth year here at Lexington Middle School. I earned my bachelor's degree at High Point University where I will continue to further my education in the near future. I am the proud wife to Gary, mother of Ean, Emberli and Jae'Quan and Mimi to Nyah, Egypt and Rain. Most of my time is spent with these important people.

All things math...
As we progress through the school year, students will review and expand their knowledge of geometry, number system, expressions and equations, ratio and proportions as well as statistics and probability.
It is important for students to remain focused during class instruction and to practice math skills on a regular basis. One helpful tip would be practicing multiplication facts until fluent.

Homework will be given on occasion as the concepts are taught and mastered by students.  This is to reinforce the concept learned at school. At no time will a homework assignment be given unless students have demonstrated an understanding.

I have provided some websites to visit in the "Useful Links" tab that students can view at their own time to get tips and/or to be introduced to other math concepts.
