Ms. Alexander's 3rd Grade

Hello My Name Is...

                  Mrs. Alexander

My name is Jeong Alexander. I am very excited to be teaching third grade at Southwest! I was born in Chun Cheon, South Korea and grew up there. In many ways, my hometown reminds me of Lexington because of caring families, relatives, friends, and most of all teachers I have had the privilege of encountering. I lived in Louisiana and South Carolina previously besides living in North Carolina – the most wonderful place to be in my opinion. From early in my life, like in most families, I learned about the important value of education.  I have been living in Lexington for over 20 years. I have completed my college coursework (including student teaching) leading to my degree and certification in Elementary Education at Greensboro College, in Greensboro, N.C. While attending Greensboro College, I worked as an assistant teacher for the Lexington City School system. I have been with the system for the past eighteen years.

I am married and have three wonderful children. I have a dog named “Sammy”. I am an avid reader. I love to read, draw and paint pictures. I also enjoy playing the piano. I love working with children and my goal is to help my students reach their full potential.  I am looking forward to working with all of you this year!
