STUDENT & STAFF LOGO CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

 

Lexington City Schools hosted both a Student and a Staff Logo Contest. Students and staff across the district had the opportunity to showcase their creativity as they created a logo that focused on our new district theme "RISE: Rigorous Innovative Schools for Everyone". The logo had to incorporate the current Lexington L and/or Yellow Jacket symbol(s) and support our RISE theme.

  

From the student entries, a district team selected three finalists from each division: elementary, middle and high school. Of those three finalists, the members of the Board of Education chose one logo as the overall winner.

 

Each of the three student finalists received a brand new Chromebook.  The student who created the overall winning logo also received $300.

 

Elementary Finalist: Gabrielle Robinson, 3rd grade, SWE

Middle Finalist: Koen Hill, 6th grade, LMS

High Finalist: Abiel Romero, 11th grade, LSHS

 

Overall Winner:  Gabrielle Robinson, 3rd grade student at Southwest Elementary School


In addition to the student winners, there were TWO winners from the Staff Logo Contest. Each staff member received $300. The staff members are:

 

Mrs. Ella Frazier, a 4th & 5th grade teacher from Pickett Elementary School

Mrs. Jessie DeLapp, a 2nd grade teacher from Southwest Elementary School
