LCS Announces Mr Sean Gaillard as 2019 Regional Principal of the Year

Lexington Middle Principal is Regional Principal of the Year for NC

NC Department of Public Instruction just released the names of the 2019 Regional Principals of the Year. Lexington City Schools proudly announces Mr. Sean Gaillard, Lexington Middle School Principal, is the 2019 Piedmont-Triad Region Principal of the Year.

  Mr. Gaillard has been in education for 27 years, having served as an elementary, middle and high school teacher. He then became an assistant principal followed by positions as a middle school principal and high school principal before joining Lexington City Schools as the principal of Lexington Middle School.  Mr. Gaillard’s efforts go beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of his job to create an exceptional environment that is both positive and innovative and shares the amazing work of his staff and students with the world through social media and other platforms. He is the author of The Pepper Effect, a book about inspiring creativity, positivity and collaboration in the schoolhouse and is releasing his second book later this month.  He is a nationally recognized keynote speaker and the host of a weekly podcast, The Principal Liner Notes, in which he connects with educational leaders everywhere and shares how to establish a mindset that can transform classrooms and schools. Lexington City Schools is proud of Mr. Gaillard’s efforts and wish him the best as he moves on to the state competition.

  Regional winners will each receive $1,000 for personal use and $1,000 for their schools. A state selection committee will now review the portfolios of the eight regional winners and conduct an extensive interview process before selecting the 2019 Wells Fargo North Carolina Principal of the Year. The winner will be announced later this spring.
