    Behavioral Expectations

    • Follow the 5 P’s…Be Polite, Positive, Prompt, Productive, Prepared

All rules in code of conduct found in your school-issued student handbook. In other words… Always treat others the way you want to be treated and CONDUCT YOURSELF IN A MANNER THAT WILL NOT KEEP OTHERS FROM LEARNING OR ME FROM teaching.

    Tests/Projects/Quizzes

At the end of each unit a unit test is given. The unit test is comprehensive. This serves as an opportunity for students to show growth and mastery of all content learned. Quizzes will be to assess student learning. It is advised that students study class notes daily. Students are encouraged to keep track of their progress and monitor areas of growth and weakness. This focus will help guide what to study.

Homework: When given, homework will be given and due the following class unless otherwise stated. Homework will be graded on completion at times as well as accuracy.

*NOTE:  Completion means every problem was attempted and legitimate work MUST be shown to receive credit!*

Science Binders: It is very important for students to stay organized. Binders will help students stay organized and always have something to refer back to for studying purposes.

Classwork/Participation: Participating in discussions and activities is so important in helping students make sense of science. Classwork will be assigned daily and checked on a regular basis. Students are expected to give each assignment their full attention and best effort.

Missing Work Due to Absence:  It is the student’s responsibility to retrieve missing work, complete, and turn it in to be graded.  All work must be returned within the allotted time deemed by school policy. Any previously assigned work is due the day the student returns. If a student misses a quiz or test they must make arrangements to make up for the missed quiz or test.
