• Chemistry

Course Description: Chemistry is a prerequisite for the AP science curriculum. It is NOT required to graduate, however it can be used as the physical science requirement.  We will study measurement, atomic structure, moles, naming, balanced equations, predicting products, stoichiometry, quantum theory, bonding, gas laws, equilibrium and from there we will see how much time is remaining.

    Where to begin:

    1. Come to class prepared each day and try your best.

    2. If you feel overwhelmed, please ask Mrs Wall fo help. Sometimes I may seem intimidating, but I promise I only want you to succeed.

    3. Check PowerSchool often. If you have missing work, complete it ASAP. If you are unsure of what is missing or need help ASK for help.

    4. Be PROACTIVE. If you see a mistake in your grades, if you need help, please come see me, send me an email or a Remind message. I am very approachable and I will work with you. This year will be different since some of you have not been in the building in 1 1/2 years.

    5. We are a team. Plan to work together so we can ALL succeed.

    Physical Science

    Course Description:

Physical science is a combination physics and chemistry class. We will study motion, forces, work, power, simple machines, energy, waves, heat, electricity and magnetism under the physics topic. When we get to chemistry we will study atomic structure, the periodic table, bonding, naming, chemical and physical properties/changes, chemical reactions, acids and bases and nuclear chemistry.
