Mr. Hughes has been an educator since 2013, having both lived and worked in Winston-Salem, N.C. He has also worked previously in the Rowan-Salisbury School District.

Mr. Hughes has two biological sons and a blended family of six. He also has a wife who is an administrator in the Winston Salem Forsyth County School District. 

Mr. Hughes graduated from High School and holds several degrees including a Bachelors and several Masters Degrees in Education.

He is an advocate for children with Exceptional needs and students in general.
