Ms. Paradis
Welcome to 5th Grade Math!
My name is Kristie Paradis, and I will be teaching your child math this year. Fifth grade math is a continuation of fourth grade standards with a more in depth focus on +/-/x/÷ fractions and mixed numbers, and multi-step word problems. My goal is to show students it IS possible to love math! My favorite moments are the “lightbulb” moments - when students have been struggling and finally get it!
This is my tenth year teaching and my sixth year at Charles England. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education through the University of Phoenix. I have taught several different grades, but 5th grade is by far my favorite!
I live in Lexington with my two daughters. My oldest, Joely, is 17, and she is a senior at Davidson Early College. My youngest, Annalise, is 13, and she is in 8th grade at Davidson County Schools Virtual Academy. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to watch movies, go thrift shopping, or just hang out!
I look forward to an exciting year with you and your child! Please contact me at any time with questions by calling the school at 336-242-1552, by emailing me at kparadis@lexcs.org, or by sending me a message on Class Dojo.
