My name is Flor Castillo and I am from Honduras a small Central American country in the Caribbean. I have been an educator for 20+ years with experience in grades K-12. I achieved my BA in ESL and Minor in Early Education from Universidad Pedagogica Nacional "Francisco Morazan" and a MA TESOL from Greensboro College.  I am the proud pioneer of the Spanish Immersion Program at Pickett Elementary which started in 2019 with Kindergarten. This year I will be initiating and teaching the 2nd Grade Spanish Immersion class and leading the Spanish Immersion Team. I love reading and also traveling to new places. My 19 year old son is beginning college this fall here in NC and I am very proud of all his achievements. As a lifelong educator, I always advocate and believe in my students as they become global citizens.
