Mrs. Meredith Worley
Dear Students, Parents and/or Guardians,
My name is Meredith Worley, and I am excited about being Lexington Senior High School’s Dance Education teacher. What a wonderful opportunity for our students to be able to grow academically and creatively! The fantastic arts department at LSHS will now grow even stronger by adding dance to its program.
I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Dance Education. I have also been teaching dance for over 25 years as the founder and director of Cross Movement Dance. With over 200 students and a staff of 15 teachers, I have enjoyed mentoring, teaching, creating and inspiring dancers to enjoy and share the beauty of dance. Dance allows students to express themselves not only physically but, also emotionally, spiritually and mentally. I love seeing dancers work independently and with others to express themselves and collaborate with ideas. In addition to teaching students in the classroom, I also currently direct the musicals at our school in collaboration with our chorus department. Under my direction, we have performed Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma! and High School Musical.
My husband, Scott and I, have been married for 29 years. We have 5 amazing children and 2 grandchildren. Four of my children have graduated from Lexington Senior High School and one is currently a junior at LSHS.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the Dance Department, please feel free to contact me via email or Remind (app). I am happy to speak or provide assistance to students and parents. It is crucial that parents and guardians continually check in with students and hold them accountable for their school work. Frequent, open, and honest communication can help your student be even more successful. It is a privilege for me to invest in your child's creative and academic work.
Dance has always been such an important part of my life. I hope my love and passion for dance will encourage your child to create, inspire and enjoy life and the beauty we can experience each day!
Sincerely,
Meredith Worley
