Lexington Middle School Weekly Updates
February 12
Thank you all for another great week here in the Hive. We have several things causing a buzz as we head into the final half of this school year.
We are celebrating Black History Month all month long and we are celebrating student success in the classroom as well. We shared progress reports this past Friday for every class. Every yellow jacket should have brought home the Family Connection Folder with their 1st report of the 3rd quarter inside. We also have our multi-language learning students continuing to take part in assessments all week long.
This week we will be celebrating our fall season 8th grade athletes at our home basketball game on tomorrow, Feb 13th. Please come out and show your support. The gate opens at 4:15.
Our district has provided a survey for supporters of LCS to share input on the School Calendar. Please visit our school district website or download the APP for this and all other important happenings in our school and district.
Connect 21, our partner after-school enrichment program, will meet Monday through Thursday this week.
This Friday will be an Early Release day for LCS Students. Our Yellow Jackets will be dismissed at 12:30. Monday Feb 20th, will be an Annual Leave day for teachers and staff. There will be no school for students.I hope that everyone is taking time to enjoy family, friends, and football on this Super Bowl Sunday! Thank you for listening and let's have a great Yellow Jacket Week!

Thank you for another great week at LMS. I would like to especially thank our parents and family members for showing up to celebrate our yellow jackets at our 2nd Qtr awards assembly. We will be scheduling the 3rd qtr awards very soon and our goal is that every student earns an award.
This week we will continue transitioning our 8th grade students toward registering for high school. Over the course of the week, they will attend Elective Tours at LSHS where they are able to see specific elective courses and determine which ones they are most interested in. Our students will also be completing a 5-Year Plan that will set them up for success through the high school years and right into the college or career of their choice.
In athletics, our basketball teams will be in action on tomorrow 2/6 at S. Davidson
Progress Reports are set to go home on Friday 2/10. Please be sure to remind your Yellow Jacket to bring home their new Family Communication Folder. Parents, every student should have a folder and they are responsible for bringing important information from our school and their teachers home to you weekly. Please ask your student about their folder.
Connect 21 is set to meet this week Monday - Thursday. Parents and students please be on the lookout for communications from Ms. Mosley should there be any changes or updates to scheduling.Let's have a Great Yellow Jacket week!
