Mr. Anthony "Tony" Graham

Welcome aboard to 7th Grade Math with Mr. Graham!

As we set sail on a new academic journey, the theme of "Charting a New Course for Success" embodies our shared commitment, as a middle school team and the much needed support and “buy-in” from you and your scholar, to provide continual moments of exploration, growth, and achievement. Whether we've crossed paths before or are just beginning this voyage, I'm excited to embark on this educational adventure together.

Having the pleasure of teaching many of your children last year in 6th grade, I'm honored to continue this excursion of learning with familiar faces. The trust and connection we've built lay the foundation for a collaborative and engaging year ahead.  This being the case, we are all starting fresh with lessons learned and new opportunities on the horizon, challenging us to be the “Best Versions of Ourselves”.

Open lines of communication are vital, and we are using Class Dojo as our primary communication platform.  Please be sure to enroll in this app at your earliest convenience. This tool will keep us connected, ensuring you receive timely updates, announcements, and a direct channel to address any queries you might have.

This is my second year as a middle school math teacher, and also being both a parent and grandparent above all, I deeply understand the significance of an enriching, collaborative learning environment. I stand firm as an advocate for all our students and their families, guided by the belief that success thrives in a supportive community. With roots firmly planted in our community, I'm dedicated to fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented atmosphere.

Our journey through 7th grade math will align with NC Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Common Core standards, as listed below:

  • Ratios and Proportional Relationships (RP)
  • The Number System (NS)
  • Expressions and Equations (EE)
  • Geometry (G)
  • Statistics and Probability (SP)

To ensure we're all on the same course, let's understand how assessments contribute to your child’s progress:

  • Tests: 35%
  • Classwork: 25%
  • Quizzes: 25%
  • Homework: 15%

In addition to Class Dojo, you can always reach out to me at for any inquiries, suggestions, or discussions. I also encourage you to engage with Dr. Wilkie and the Jacket Parent Academy, a resource hub that offers families additional support and avenues for engagement within our school, our district and the Greater Lexington community.

As we navigate the waters of the 2023-24 school year, let's foster curiosity, resilience, and determination in our scholars. I'm eager to witness the growth that each student can & will achieve and look forward to celebrating their achievements along the way, no matter how big or small.

Here's to a year of charting new courses, seizing opportunities, and achieving success together.
