Dear Pickett Elementary Families,

I am truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Principal at Pickett Elementary School. I am excited about the journey ahead and look forward to a fantastic school year filled with learning, growth, and collaboration alongside our administration team, teachers, students, families, and the entire community.

A little about my background: I earned my undergraduate degree in Mental Disabilities from High Point University and later completed a graduate degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education. I hold certifications in Exceptional Children Director and Leadership, Elementary Education (K-6), and School Administration through the University of North Carolina Greensboro’s Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS) program. Before joining South Lexington, I taught Special Education for 13 years at Pickett Elementary School and for five years at Fort Dorchester Elementary School in Summerville, South Carolina. Most recently, I served as Assistant Principal at South Lexington School and Developmental Center for three years.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Pickett Elementary family, where One Team, One Goal, All In is more than a theme—it is the way we work together each day. As one team, we are united in our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every student feels valued, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential. My highest priorities will always be ensuring the safety and well-being of our students while fostering a love of learning that inspires curiosity, confidence, and lifelong success. Together, we are all in for every child, every day.

It is with great excitement and heartfelt gratitude that I continue my journey at Pickett Elementary School as Assistant Principal. I am truly honored to serve this incredible school community and remain committed to the important work of ensuring every scholar has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Having served Lexington City Schools for several years, I know that meaningful relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to scholars are the foundation of a thriving school. I am excited to continue partnering with our outstanding educators, supportive families, and dedicated community as we build upon the strong foundation that makes Pickett Elementary such a special place.

As we continue our theme, One Team. One Goal. All In., we reaffirm our belief that when we work together with purpose, collaboration, and determination, there is no limit to what our scholars can achieve. Every decision we make and every action we take will remain centered on doing what is best for students because they deserve our very best every single day.

A proud Lexington native, I have had the privilege of serving Lexington City Schools throughout my career. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UNC Asheville, completed my K–6 Licensure in 2010, and received my Master’s in Executive Leadership Studies from Gardner-Webb University in 2019. I am married and a proud mom of an energetic son whose curiosity and love of learning inspire me daily. As a lifelong learner, I am also pursuing my doctoral degree at High Point University to continue growing as an educational leader and better serve our students, staff, and community.

I am excited to continue this journey at Pickett and remain dedicated to giving my very best each day. Together, as One Team. One Goal. All In., we will embrace Excellence Without Excuses, celebrate every success, overcome every challenge, and ensure that every student reaches their fullest potential.
