Chaverra Rodriguez, Eddie

Hi! I'm Mr. Eddie, and I am excited to be working as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher here at Picket Elementary School.

I feel very privileged to be working with my students helping them improve their English language skills and grow in confidence both inside and outside the classroom, showing them a view of the outside world to inspire them to overcome any possible limit.

Classroom / Grade-Level Expectations

What We Expect from English Learners

Come Ready to Learn – Bring your notebook, pen, or ipad and be prepared to take part in class.

Join In – Try to use English during activities and take every chance to practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Be Respectful – Everyone is learning at a different pace, so be patient and supportive of your classmates.

Keep Practicing – Use English outside of class as much as you can—watch a show, read, or chat with a friend.

Try your best – Never give up, Homework and projects are there to help you improve, so stay on top of them.

Ask for Help – Don’t be afraid to speak up if something is confusing. Mistakes are how we learn.

Be proud of your roots and culture Use english with classmates, try to communicate in English as much as possible but don't forget where your family comes from. Practice your home language as well.
