MRS BROWN
Welcome! I’m Keisha Brown, and I’m proud to be part of the Pickett Elementary family, teaching 5th grade. It gives me the joy of watching students discover their strengths and build confidence each day. I believe in fostering a strong classroom community where everyone feels respected, supported, and inspired to learn. Together, we will make this an exciting year of growth and discovery.
I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica and has been an educator for 21 there before I joined the Pickett family in 2024. I am a wife and proud mom of two beautiful girls. In my spare time I enjoy watching a good movie, shopping, travelling to visit family, especially when I visit Toronto, Canada. I also enjoy cooking some good Jamaican food and fellowshipping at church.

Morning Routine: Unpack quietly, turn in homework, begin morning work.
Participation: Raise your hand to speak or ask questions.
Transitions: Move quietly and quickly from one activity to the next.
Homework: Complete and turn in on time. Ask for help if needed.
Technology Use: Use devices only when and how the teacher says.
Consequences
Verbal Warning: Reminder of the rule and chance to correct behavior.
Reflection Time: Move to a quiet area to think about behavior.
Loss of Privileges: Missing an opportunity to do a class job, or a classroom reward.
Parent Contact: A phone call, email, or note home to inform parents/guardians.
Office Referral: For serious or repeated behavior, the student will be sent to the principal.
