Hello!  I have been at Pickett since March 2021.  I worked with Middle School students for nine years before I began teaching Elementary.  I am from Colorado but have lived in NC over 15 years with my husband and two kids.  I studied Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs prior to going back to school for Elementary Education.

Classroom / Grade-Level Expectations

  • Arrive at school on time and prepared for learning

  • Complete your homework and classwork

  • Show respect to yourself, to others, and to all things

Homework

Homework is a great way to practice what we are learning!

1. Read 20 minutes every night!  Students take AR (Accelerated Reading) Quizzes when they feel confident about a book they have read.  Their goal is to pass 5 books each week.

2. Complete Reading and Math Homework each night (Monday - Thursday).  The Homework packet should be sent back to school each day.

3. Study spelling Words for the weekly spelling test and review sight words which are sent home in the packet.
