Here is a polished weekly parent message:
---
**Good Afternoon SWEGA Families,**
This is a friendly reminder that our instructional day begins promptly at **7:30 AM**. Students who arrive after 7:30 are marked **tardy** and miss important morning routines and instruction. Please make every effort to have your child at school on time each day.
We also have two spirit days this week:
**Wednesday – Wear Pink**
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are asking all students and staff to wear pink to show support and raise awareness.
**Friday – Dress Like a Farmer (NC Crunch Day)**
Students are invited to dress like farmers as we celebrate NC Crunch Day! This event promotes healthy eating, supports North Carolina agriculture, and brings awareness to farm-to-school programs.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we make SWEGA a great place to learn and grow!

ACCESS Parent Night: A Successful Event for Multilingual Families
On January 23, 2025, Lexington City Schools held a highly successful ACCESS Parent Night for parents and guardians of multilingual students (K-12) at the Lexington Senior High School Media Center. This event provided valuable information about the upcoming ACCESS testing, presented by Mrs. Susie Best, our ML Coordinator.
The session covered important details, including:
An overview of each domain in the ACCESS test
The impact of ACCESS scores on school growth
How parents can help prepare their students for the test
Parents also received a comprehensive resource packet to support their students' learning. Spanish interpretation was available to ensure that all families could fully engage in the discussion.
The turnout was impressive—more than double the attendance from last year—and the feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive.
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended and to the Lexington City Schools team for making this event a great success! Together, we are supporting our multilingual students and families to Thrive in the Hive.
Stay connected for more upcoming events and resources! #ThriveInTheHive #ACCESSParentNight
