I am originally from a small town in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I came to North Carolina to attend Catawba College, where I received my History and Political Science degree. After college, I worked in the admissions office for seven years. My heart has always been in education, so I went back to school at UNC-Charlotte to receive my graduate certificate in middle school social studies. I have three children who attend (attended) Lexington City Schools: Emma, a college sophomore; Colin, a senior at LSHS; and Max, a freshman.
