Lexington City Schools is proud to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the Lexington Athletics Hall of Fame, an opportunity to honor the individuals whose dedication, talent, leadership, and commitment helped shape the proud tradition of athletics at Lexington Senior High School and Dunbar High School.

From unforgettable moments on the field and court to decades of leadership, mentorship, and support behind the scenes, generations of student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and community supporters have helped build a legacy of excellence that continues to inspire today’s Yellow Jackets. The Lexington Athletics Hall of Fame was created to ensure those stories, achievements, and contributions are remembered and celebrated for years to come.

The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the athletics program as:

  • Student-athletes

  • Coaches

  • Administrators

  • Donors

  • Friends and supporters of LSHS/Dunbar Athletics

Nominees may be recognized for athletic accomplishments, records established, leadership, sportsmanship, character, citizenship, coaching achievements, or contributions that positively impacted the schools and community.

This is an opportunity for alumni, former teammates, classmates, families, and community members to help preserve the rich history of Lexington athletics by submitting nominations for deserving individuals whose impact deserves lasting recognition.

Whether it was a standout athlete who inspired a generation, a coach who changed lives beyond the scoreboard, or a supporter who helped strengthen athletics programs behind the scenes, Lexington City Schools encourages the community to help identify and celebrate those individuals whose legacy continues to make a difference.

A minimum of five years must have passed since participation or service as a student-athlete, coach, or administrator within the LSHS/Dunbar athletics programs. Posthumous nominees are exempt from the five-year requirement.

The official nomination form includes areas highlighting:

  • Athletic honors and records established

  • Sportsmanship, character, and citizenship

  • Coaching or administrative achievements
