Lexington Senior High School Celebrates Class of 2025 with $4.3 Million in Scholarships and 190 Graduates
Triumph, tradition, and a bright future defined the Lexington Senior High School Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony, held on May 31, 2025, at Philpott Memorial Stadium. A total of 190 graduates walked across the stage, cheered on by proud families, staff, and community members, and together earned an impressive $4,74,192 in scholarships.
At the top of this accomplished class stood Valedictorian Miss Adyson B. Griffin and Salutatorian Mr. Jayden C. Moore, whose heartfelt speeches captured the spirit of perseverance and promise that defined the graduating class. Their words served as both a reflection of the journey and an inspiration for what lies ahead.
The ceremony featured remarks from Senior Class President Mr. Dustin Prichard, Assistant Principal Ms. Cynthia Mosley, and Principal Dr. Jermaine Porter. Superintendent Dr. Nakia Hardy joined Dr. Porter and members of the Lexington City Schools Board of Education in officially conferring diplomas.
Many graduates were also recognized for academic and extracurricular excellence, including:
Honor Graduates
Members of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, and National Technical Honor Society
College and Career Ready Graduates
Graduates earning Latin distinctions: Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude
A special moment in the ceremony included the Presentation of Legacy Pins, honoring parents and guardians of Class of 2025 graduates who are also Lexington Senior High School alumni. This meaningful tradition underscores the deep roots and shared pride that connect generations of Yellow Jackets.
Following the ceremony, graduates recessed to the gymnasium to receive their official diplomas. Families and guests were invited to reunite with their graduates outside the building to continue celebrating the milestone.
“Our graduates have not only persevered—they’ve excelled,” said Superintendent Dr. Nakia Hardy. “The Class of 2025 leaves behind a legacy of determination, achievement, and hope. We are so proud of them.”
With diplomas in hand and dreams in sight, the Lexington Senior High School Class of 2025 is ready to lead, serve, and succeed in an ever-changing global society. Their achievements reflect not only personal dedication, but the collective support of families, staff, and the greater Lexington community. Together, we Thrive in the Hive.
