LSHS career fair 026 highlight.

Lexington Senior High School recently hosted a Career Fair designed to expand access and strengthen connections between students and the workforce, creating intentional pathways from education to future opportunities.

The event brought together a diverse group of business and community partners representing healthcare, manufacturing, public service, education, and workforce development. By bringing these organizations directly into the school environment, students were able to engage in meaningful, real-time conversations about career options, required skills, and next steps after graduation.

Students connected with partners including Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center, Davidson-Davie Community College, J Smith Young YMCA, City of Lexington, Food Lion, Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, Nucor Steel Lexington, Siemens Mobility, Thomas Built Buses, and the United States Navy, along with many additional partners committed to supporting student success.

Additional participants included AMHaire Manufacturing & Service Corp, CID Attachments, City of Lexington Stormwater & PSA, Davidson Water, Inc., Egger, Embracing Me Counseling, PLLC, Imaflex USA, Inc., Lexington Parks and Recreation, Lexington Police Department, McIntyre Manufacturing Group, Inc., Mohawk Industries, NCDOC Adult Corrections, NCRising, NCWorks NextGen, North Carolina Rural Water Association, Owens and Minor, Keller Williams Premier, Rosalind Baker, SECU, The Bradley Group, and others who contributed to the success of the event.

A key focus of this year’s Career Fair included opportunities in health and wellness. Through direct engagement with healthcare and postsecondary partners, students explored pathways into fields such as nursing, radiology, and patient care, gaining a clearer understanding of how to get started and what steps are required to pursue these in-demand careers.

For many students, the experience provided more than exposure — it provided direction. By connecting students with professionals and postsecondary partners, the event helped bridge the gap between interest and action, supporting informed decision-making and future readiness.

Events like the Career Fair play a critical role in preparing students for success beyond graduation. By intentionally aligning education, workforce opportunities, and community partnerships, Lexington City Schools continues to expand access and create meaningful pathways that support both individual student success and the broader community.

Lexington City Schools extends sincere appreciation to all participating partners for their continued investment in students and their future.
