Lexington City Schools is once again providing free summer meals and activities for children 18 and under through July 30 as part of the SUN Meals program.

No registration or identification is required for participation.

Last summer, Lexington City Schools served a record number of meals through the district’s Summer Feeding Program, helping ensure children across the community had access to nutritious meals while school was out. The district is proud to continue providing this important service to students and families throughout the summer months.

New this year, Lexington City Schools is offering a districtwide feeding site at Pickett Elementary School. Families may visit Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Participants should check in at the front office and proceed to the cafeteria.

Community meal sites include:

  • Southside Village (Pleasant Village):

    11:00 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

  • Helen Caple:

    11:30 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

  • Club Apartments:

Please note that all meals must be eaten on site in accordance with federal USDA requirements for the SUN Meals program. Meals cannot be taken home.
