Lexington City Schools is proud to feature two outstanding graduates from the Lexington Senior High School Class of 2026 in its latest Student Spotlight interviews.

This edition of the Student Spotlight series celebrates Valedictorian Jaylen Rashawn Jones and Salutatorian Violet Jean Shaw, recognizing their exceptional academic achievements while giving viewers an opportunity to learn more about the students behind these prestigious honors.

During their interviews, Jaylen and Violet reflect on the experiences that shaped their educational journeys, the teachers and mentors who encouraged them along the way, and the habits that helped them achieve academic success. They also share words of encouragement for younger Yellow Jackets as they pursue their own goals.

"Jaylen and Violet have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, and we are proud to celebrate their accomplishments while sharing their stories with our community."

The Lexington Senior High School Class of 2026 graduated 222 students, who collectively earned $$6,895,395 in scholarship awards. Jaylen and Violet's accomplishments reflect the high standards of academic excellence found throughout Lexington City Schools.
