Driver's Education

Lexington City Schools (LCS) is pleased to announce its 2026 Driver Education Classroom Instruction program for eligible students. This course provides the required 30 hours of classroom instruction for students preparing to begin the driver licensing process.

The class will take place March 2–13, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 3:45–6:45 p.m. at the Lexington Senior High School Media Center. Students must be 14½ years old on or before March 2, 2026, and must be enrolled in Lexington City Schools, a private school within the LCS district, or be homeschooled while residing in the LCS district.

A total of 50 seats are available, and registration will close once all seats are filled. Online registration opens February 13, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Students must register themselves; prior registrations will not be considered.

Attendance is mandatory for all class sessions. Students may not miss any days, arrive late, or leave early, and no make-up days will be offered. Students should bring notebook paper and a pencil each day. Parents are responsible for transportation home following class.

The course fee is $10. Payments will be accepted February 17–27, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Lexington Senior High School Student Services Office. Payments may be made by check or money order payable to Lexington City Schools, or by cash (exact amount required).

Confirmation emails will be sent only to students who are assigned a seat in the class.
